at the end of the first week of this course, we were assigned to make audio visualisers for a vj night. i came up with a space themed minimal visualiser in processing using java as the programming language. i converted the whole thing into html, css, and js using three.js and simplex-noise.js. it is now deployed on the web for anyone to use and have fun with. you can access it here.
looking at the night sky, i asked myself: "what if stars had adhd?" that's our inspiration. imagine cosmic particles zipping faster as volume increases—like giving the universe an energy drink. as for that sphere, i've always wondered what my neighbour's terrible bass-boosted music would look like in 3D. turns out, visualising audio's elements is less "cosmic wonder" and more "disco ball with a physics degree."
